Rich Knox and fellow fishing guides are reporting excellent inshore fishing, from the main-shoreline to the barrier island’s from Clearwater, Tarpon Springs on to New Port Richey fishing has been producing a number of species on the day’s following the Northern blows ! Great tasting Spotted Sea Trout fishing has been fantastic in all these areas, depending on the water temperatures artificial to live baits of a good variety have all been working.  Nice Red-fish have been schooling on certain flats with higher water temperatures, select live shrimp has been the ticket, these fish use the flats to sun and feed on the higher tides, if you can get back into some or the deep holes in the back country you’ll sometimes find the mother load. snook fishing is good for January if you put in your time, pilchard’s and different kinds of jigs and Mirro-lure plugs have been the go-to. we are catching all these fish and more on light tackle spinning equipment spooled with 8-10 lb. braid with 3-4′ section of 20 lb. fluorocarbon leader. These photo’s are of Greg Pflum and his dad Frank, 0n a recent flats fishing charter.
