Great Off-Shore for Adults and Youngsters

Absolute Florida Flats Fishing and Guide Service with Capt. Rich Knox reports very good Reef and Wreck fishing charters since tropical storm Debby and other various tropical waves,  depositing record amounts of rainfall in our area.  The Gag-grouper season has opened with a bang,  good keeper sized Gag’s can be found in state waters from 30′ to 50′ on the inshore reef’s and hard bottom, also there have been some good sized Mangrove Snapper starting to show up in some areas, not to mention Bonito, Spanish Mackerel, King-fish, a variety of good fighting Sharks and a nice Cobia now and then. One thing in the nearshore fishing is weather and it has been great for that with numerous day’s with a 5-10 mph breeze.  With all the run-off,  the inshore flats fishing has slowed a bit but good catch’s of release Snook fishing, some keeper Red-fish, Spotted sea Trout and others are possible early in the day ! Deep Sea  Bottom fishing, and live bait spin-casting on the close by Reef’s and Wreck’s has been the best plan for a day of charter fishing, the younger fisherman are catch good eating white Grunts (Gray Snapper) while the adults drop down for the big fish, Great eating Gag- Grouper and Snapper on 4/0 reels loaded with 50 lb. test.
