fishing has been outstanding for nice Gator Trout (spotted sea trout); open in
our fishing region, redfish, sheephead, small tarpon fishing, poor man’s tarpon
(ladyfish), flounder, blue fish, occasional snook, and more.
Using a combination of live and artificial baits to cover more ground, unless we are
fishing structure, oyster bars, docks, rock piles, we’ve been producing with select
shrimp or pinfish, the fish seem to want something moving on an open inshore
flat during this Indian summer we are experiencing, water temperatures now are
63* F to 68* F range it’s been very good fishing in between the occasional cold
fronts. Inshore flats fishing in Tarpon Springs and New Port Richey and north
are open for keeping fresh Trout and the flats fishing is comfortable and good,
hope the weather can remain good after the last 2 cold winters for Florida on the Suncoast.
